Gift Boxes with the Theme of “Unboxing Experience”
BIX
Corrugated cardboard is an environmentally friendly packaging material with excellent cushioning properties and a high recycling rate of over 95%. However, corrugated cardboard, which has been used mainly as a material for outer boxes, has a strong image of being “inexpensive” and “simple.” Therefore, we have developed gift boxes that incorporate the new value of the “experience of opening the package” while taking advantage of the characteristics of corrugated fiberboard.
The first phase of the project, based on the motif of “deform,” features six types of gift boxes: “twist,” “bulge,” “round,” “shear,” “taper,” and “cutoff.” By daring to incorporate unusual opening methods and mechanisms that require a bit of finesse, we designed the opening itself to be a memorable experience. This is a new packaging experience full of surprise and fun that overturns the image of the conventional cardboard box.
