Natural material fusing unused materials discarded by the food industry with natural rubber

The word “rubber” originally referred to “natural rubber” made from the sap of the rubber tree, but the synthetic rubber that has become mainstream today has given the impression that rubber is a “chemical substance,” which is not a good impression of rubber.The “rebbur” is a material development project that mixes natural rubber with discarded natural materials, accepting discoloration and deterioration, which were conventionally regarded as defects, and aiming to create a more natural and friendly rubber material.

For the natural materials to be combined with natural rubber, unused materials such as “seaweed scraps,” “tea scraps,” and “eggshells,” which are discarded in the food industry, were selected, and three types of materials were first developed.
As a product using the rebbur materials, a rubber planter was also designed that does not damage floors and tables, does not break when dropped, and does not spill its contents easily.
